AASE (WA Chapter) invites proposals from individuals and groups interested in presenting at the 2008 National Conference. The programme committee overseeing this aspect of the conference program is seeking proposals that will adddress
research based practices and
procedures to promote positive outcomes for students with diverse learning needs and their families. Areas of specific focus for this Conference are mathematics education, autism, values education and the designing of
quality curriculum for all students. Proposals will be considered across other areas of special education.
Type of Proposals:
Refereed Papers:
The program committee invites proposals for papers reporting research-based outcomes for review. Initial proposals should concisely outline the aim of the paper, strategies for investigating the problem or topic, outcomes and a statement about what delegates will gain from the Conference presentation (250 words). On acceptance of proposals, authors will be asked to submit a formally prepared paper for review. The review processes will follow DEST guidelines and papers will be published with the Conference program.
Non-refereed Papers:
Presenters not seeking formal review of their paper can submit proposals as a non-refereed paper.
Poster Presentations:
Posters presentations will provide an opportunity for presenters to display their findings pictorially and allow individualised discussion of findings with delegates and colleagues. First time presenters and graduate students are encouraged to submit poster presentations.
